CURRENT UFO AND UAP CONCERNS

UFO and UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) concerns currently center around two principal areas: the rather obvious national security risks to military operations, and the push for government transparency with respect to potential non-human intelligence. Governmental and Defense Force tracking and declassification efforts have evolved over the last decade, encouraged by increased congressional oversight, huge public interest, and a series of preliminary document and image releases.

Security Issues

Unidentified objects performing maneuvers near military training sites pose potential collision risks and could indicate advanced foreign surveillance. Not knowing where these originate is of further concern.

In the past, pilots were reluctant to report strange sightings for fear of professional ridicule. Today’s environment includes standard protocols that encourage reporting and documentation to study these events in a more serious way.

In the United States the Department of War established the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office to serve as a central clearinghouse for investigating these incidents. However, some pundits regard this organization more of a vetting agency, releasing to the public only ‘tip of the iceberg’ and innocuous information and retaining the rest for more clandestine studies.

Transparency for the public

Public and scientific interest centers around understanding the origins of these objects and releasing previously hidden files.

Under the guise of Disclosure, recent federal directives have requested transparency, resulting in public archives of previously classified UAP documents, plus audio and visual data. To date these have been fairly mundane, even if they are inexplicable.

Organizations like NASA Science emphasize that while there is currently limited high-quality data proving alien technology, the goal is to apply scientific methodologies and crowdsourced AI data to the phenomenon. High quality data would, of course, include remnants of crashed NHI craft [whether from Earth or otherwise]. If such material exists there is little chance of it being shown publicly as it would release an enormous cat out of the bag.

[Hopefully] independent groups like the National UFO Reporting Center and scientific panels led by researchers like Dr. Avi Loeb continue to advise governments and aggregate reports to distinguish conventional phenomena from true anomalies. This is a good move but requires honesty all round.

Summary

While some of the happenings noted above are a step in the right direction, much more needs to be done. It is a difficult matter. Proof of NHI would perhaps deal a blow to our perceptions of where we stand in the universe, but of the presence of alien beings should be treated the same as if we have discovered new wildlife on Earth as part of universal creation. Only the fear of a higher sentience prevents us from readily accepting the possibility.
