UK UFO HOTSPOTS

UK UFO HOTSPOTS

7th January 2024 | Human Nature, UFO's

Introduction

Something a little different to start the new year – a look at UFO activity in the United Kingdom. The UK has a surfeit of enthusiasts interested in this topic and sightings go back many years. A check on Wikipedia will confirm that such unexplained activity may go back to the 12th century. However, most sightings date from the 1940s – no doubt due to better record keeping and heightened public interest.

Historical recordings

In the 12th century, AD1113 to be exact,  religious pilgrims in South West England apparently witnessed a glowing fire-belching ‘dragon’ emerge from the sea and disappear into the sky.

Similarly in 1254 in St. Albans a scribe described a glowing light, describing it as: ‘In serene sky and clean air, with stars shining and the Moon eight days old, there suddenly appeared in the sky a kind of large ship elegantly shaped, well equipped and of marvellous colour.’

Not sure what is meant by ‘well equipped’ in the context of 1254!!

UFO sightings of the modern era

While many sightings have occurred in the UK since the 1940s [see WIKIPEDIA], observers are saying that there have been almost one thousand in the last two years. There can be no doubt that many, if not most, of these are due to the increased use of drones [a UFO spotter’s worst nightmare]. Only a complete and thorough investigation can reveal the authenticity or not of this many sightings.

The data was collected by UFO IDENTIFIED, which allows anyone to report a sighting of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence has allegedly stated: ‘The MOD has no opinion on the existence of extra-terrestrial life and no longer investigates reports of sightings of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena or Unidentified Flying Objects.’

This is apparently because, in over 50 years no such reporting to the department indicated the existence of any military threat to the UK – which I guess is good to know!!

Incidentally, Manchester, London,  Liverpool and Glasgow have been revealed as the UK’s UFO hotspots. Perhaps no surprise there, as they are all largely populated cities.

You can read UK UFO reports in a spreadsheet format from 1997 to 2009 at:

Summary

I guess we have to believe that government interest in UFOs in the UK is minimal, or maybe they are relying on other countries to pull their weight [many, of course, do so already albeit clandestinely].

The Kardashev Scale – An Exploration – Part 1

In March 2022 this blog looked at the Kardashev Scale of galactic civilizations and summarized their proposed definitions: https://claytongraham.com.au/civilisations-of-the-universe/ I thought this was worth revisiting in a more detailed way, so the next few blogs will look at each type in ascending order. Let’s see what we can make of it all. But first up:…
